Neurotoxins
Neurotoxins (Botox, Jeuveau) are an FDA-approved treatment to temporarily smooth moderate to wrinkles in adults. Repetitive muscle contractions are one of the causes of lines and wrinkles. Neurotoxins will temporarily reduce muscular contractions and reduce the severity of those lines
The number of units is determined based on muscle size and strength at the time of your appointment. The pricing of the units range from $10-12 per unit, depending on which type of neurotoxin is used. These are just estimates, and pricing may vary.
You may begin to see results within 48 hours, but full results is typically around day 14. Treatment is typically 15-20 minutes depending on the consult time. The effects of this treatment typically last around 3 months, but results will vary due to a variety of factors such as neurotoxin used, exercise intensity, lifestyle choices, and metabolism.
Forehead
Wrinkles are typically causes by repetitive movements. Over time, horizontal lines can begin to appear as we age. By treating the forehead, the muscles will relax and restrict movement, causing the those lines to dissipate temporarily. Approximately 15-20 units is necessary for treatment of this area.
Crows Feet
Crows feet, or smile lines, are the lines around the outer edge of the eyebrows. They typically appear from repetitive squinting and smiling. Approximately 24 units (12 on each side) is needed to treat this area.
Frown Lines
Frown lines are the wrinkles that appear on the forehead between the eyes. They are also referred to as "11 lines". Vertical lines between the eyebrows can appear from repetitive scowling and muscles weakening over time. Approximately 20 units are used to treat this area.
Bunny Lines
Bunny lines are the fine lines that appear on either side of your nose when you wrinkle or scrunch it. Treatment of this area relaxes the muscles and leaves them incapable of performing the scrunching motion. Approximately 6-8 units is required for treatment.
Gummy Smile
This are is treated with injections into the upper lip. This allows the muscles to relax allowing the lip to flip upward. This gives the illusion of a fuller lip by allowing more of the upper lip to become visible.
Lip Flip
A gummy smile treatment relaxes the muscles and allow the gums of the upper mouth to be covered more. Typically, 6-8 units is required to treat this area.
Kissing/Smokers Lines
Kissing lines are referred to as the fine lines that appear around the mouth area with movement. Approximately 10 units is required for treatment. If you have lines in this area while at rest, a dermal filler would be more beneficial.
Hyperhidrosis (Excessive Sweating)
Hyperhidrosis is a medical condition that causes excessive sweating, even when it is not needed to regulate body temperature. By injecting the underarm area, the signals can be blocked that would induce that sweating. Only Botox is FDA approved for this treatment, which typically needs approximately 100 units.
